How to Use this Guide...

This guide has EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED for teaching an entire year of Spanish to 3rd ~ 5th grades! It is intended for use with beginning Spanish students who are learning Spanish as a second language. (It is not recommended for Spanish immersion classes.)

Looking for a guide for younger students? Make sure to check out The COMPLETE Guide for Teaching Spanish to Kindergarten-2nd Grade!

This guide starts with a clickable TOC and contains over 200 PAGES covering 10 complete units that include the following for EVERY unit:

  • Unit Overview with Scope & Sequence
  • Visual Aids
  • Age-Appropriate Worksheets for Writing Practice
  • Word Searches and Crossword Puzzles
  • Clickable YouTube Hyperlinks for Lesson-Related Videos
  • Recommended Games or Activities

Each unit is broken into individual lessons that include a corresponding visual aid and a recommended scope and sequence. YouTube videos are also included with clickable links. Several worksheets are provided with each lesson that include tracing and coloring activities. As you move through a unit, you can check the box when you’ve completed part of the lesson so that you don’t lose track of your progress.

I recommend printing out all worksheets before starting a lesson and keeping them in a three-ring binder so that you can pull out what you need easily and make copies for your students. I would also highly recommend printing out the visual aids in color and laminating them ahead of time. You can also use the visual aids digitally, but I find them to be more useful to have in hand during lessons.

Review all YouTube videos ahead of time to see what will work best for you and your students.

You will probably not use all the recommended worksheets for every lesson. You may pick and choose what will work best for your students considering their academic ability. For Kindergarten students, choose VERY BASIC worksheets at the beginning of the school year since most kids will still be learning to write their letters.

Lessons are designed to be flexible so you may pick and choose which lessons to teach in any order appropriate for your students. Happy teaching!

Learning Spanish has never been more fun!
