Spanish Lessons & Curriculum for Kids!
Course Syllabus, Spanish for Little Learners
Spanish for Little Learners will focus on an introduction to some Spanish language fundamentals. This course is intended for young students with no prior Spanish language exposure. We'll introduce new Spanish vocabulary and simple phrases as a "first exposure" to the essentials. We'll reinforce learning with a lot of coloring and introduce new writing skills with letter tracing, an essential academic skill for all young learners!
IMPORTANT! Lesson pace is based on teacher discretion and in some cases, not all content from the following lessons will not be covered. All lessons will be supplemented with coordinating Boom Decks to be completed in between classes for maximum retention.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course students will have a basic understanding of the following lessons:
Lesson 1 – The Spanish Alphabet
Lesson 6 – ¡Me Gusta! (I like)
Lesson 8 – Animals of the Farm
Lesson 9 - Fruits, Fruits, Fruits!
Methods of Instruction:
Throughout this course, students will use a proprietary, age-appropriate Mi Camino "Spanish Basics" workbook (see workbook images on the right). Course content will be delivered through verbal introduction and review, games, learning-based videos (see sample videos below), and written exercises that include age-appropriate activities like coloring, drawing or the tracing of letters.
Absences & Refunds:
Students will be allowed to participate in the first class free of charge. Should you decide that you would like your child to continue with the course, payment in full at the start of the next scheduled class is required. There will be no refunds for missed classes. If I should need to cancel a class due to illness or another unforeseen emergency, I will attempt to find a qualified substitute. If a class needs to be canceled, I will schedule a make-up class as soon as possible.

Lesson 1 - The Spanish Alphabet
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to say the Spanish alphabet!
Lesson 2 - Numbers 1-10
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to count from 1-10 and trace these numbers in Spanish!
Lesson 3 - Hellos & Goodbyes
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to say and respond to simple greetings and goodbyes in Spanish!
Lesson 4 - Colors & Shapes
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to say 10 basic colors and Spanish and identify simple shapes using basic Spanish vocabulary.
Lesson 5 - Days & Weather
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to recite the seven days of the week and the twelve months of the year in Spanish! Students will also learn how to describe the weather with short, simple Spanish phrases.
Lesson 6 - ¡Me Gusta! (I like)
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to use the phrase "Me gusta" and "No me gusta" followed by a few Spanish verbs to describe what he or she likes or does not like to do!
Lesson 7 - Parts of the Body
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to identify several parts of the body using this essential Spanish vocabulary!
Lesson 8 - Animals of the Farm
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to identify and name several animals of the farm in Spanish!
Lesson 9 - Fruits, Fruits, Fruits!
By the end of this lesson your child should be able to recognize and name several fruits in Spanish!
Lesson 10 - School Things
By the end of this lesson your child should be able use new Spanish vocabulary to identify and name in Spanish common things that we use in school!
